About Me

  • The place to find unique gifts

Bear Watch is Just Bears and Stuff official blog. Just Bears and Stuff is the dream manifest of Patricia Twitchell aka The Teddy Bear Lady of Myrtle Creek.
Over two decades ago Patricia realized many years ago that being able to bring a smile to someone’s face and heart in light of such a volatile world is a unique gift and mission she carries.
It was this drive that inspired her to open Just Bears and Stuff in the early 90’s in Myrtle Creek, Oregon. In the years since she first opened her doors she has watched people of varying descriptions and backgrounds find great joy in the unique items she sells both online and in her store.
On both her eBay Store http://stores.ebay.com/bearwatch-aka-Just-Bears-and-Stuff and her gift shop located in Myrtle Creek, Oregon, Patricia has one of the most complete selections of collectibles, teddy bears, Fairie Glen, Cottage Collectibles, Gund, Lorraine Chien, Angels Around Us, Deb Canham, English Pewter, Crystal World and much, much more.

A Passion For Teddy Bears

Lorraine1 I wanted to talk to you about my passion for Teddy Bears. Teddy Bears are part of my everyday life. They are there when you are feeling good and when you are feeling down. They are comforting in any situation.

I have met many bear lovers over the years. One good friend is Lorraine Chien who designed for Ganz Cottage Collectibles. Lorraine visited my shop for the first time in 2001 and then again in 2002. She retired from the Ganz family in 2003 but still creates furries for bear lovers around the world.

What I most love about Lorraine Chien is her true passion for teddy bears and all other creatures.

Tomorrow promises to be a much better day for all the Teddy Bears. I hope so because they are being beary naughty.

Back to full speed with a successful back surgery

It has been quite a while since I have posted. The reason is that I had back surgery and the healing process was slow.

I'm glad to say everything is fine and I am back to being the shop owner I love being.

One thing I worked on while I was recovering was to get the Teddy Bear eBay store up and running full speed. Just today we went over 4,200 items posted at http://stores.ebay.com/bearwatch-aka-Just-Bears-and-Stuff

Thank you to everyone who sent cards and called with well wishes.

Cottage Collectibles by Ganz Make The Teddy Bear Lady Content With Her Lot

GanzI think out of all the collectibles that I have, I would rate the Cottage Collectibles by Ganz at the very top. The thing I like about the Cottage Collectibles by Ganz is that they have a wide variety of collectibles, and no matter what your interests are you will find something that will blend into your own collection.

I was looking at my personal collection and I realized that the variety I have is really varied. Of course, I have been spending years now collecting them but that is not an excuse! I have cottages with great details and accessories, plush bears -- I am a bear lover so having bears goes without saying --, porcelain figurines and finally the miniatures.

My Cottage Collectibles from Ganz give me a lot of pleasure and happiness because each and every piece has a memory attached to it. I have happy as well as sad memories but I cherish them. The memories are part of my life and have made me what I am today -- a person who is content with her lot.

I am looking forward to helping you create your own memories. Just visit our eBay store at http://stores.ebay.com/bearwatch-aka-Just-Bears-and-Stuff and allow yourself to be overwhelmed with emotions seeing the vast selection of Cottage Collectibles from Ganz.

Dreamsicles™ are a Dream Come True

Dreamsicle

Just the other day when I was at our shop, Just Bears and Stuff, at Myrtle Creek, feeling very satisfied with my vast display of bears, dolls and other collectibles when suddenly a young girl walked into shop.

Many people who have visited the shop call it paradise so I am used to people walking straight from the streets into the shop, but there was something about this girl that interested me. So, I went up to her and asked if she needed any help.

All she could say was cherubs. Of course, I didn't have to be a mind reader to realize that she is talking about the display of Dreamsicles that I have in the shop. And those of you who know me know my passion for these delightful pieces.

I told this young lady all about the artist Kristin Haynes and Dreamsicles. My monologue went something like this:

These cherubs that you see are created by an American artist called Kristin Haynes. She started creating adorable characters like cherubs, bunnies and many others in 1991. Kristin's creations were an immediate success and she could not keep up with the demand. So, she turned to Cast Art Industries to help her produce the wide range of Dreamsicles gifts which are one of the favorites of gift collectors.

This young lady heard me out very patiently and then asked me whether she could order Dreamsicles online. I saw a potential customer in her so I took her to my computer and showed her our ebay store with a lot of pride, cutting out the sales talk.

Now whether the young lady bought anything is for another time and another post. But I take this opportunity to tell you that if you are looking for suitable gifts for any occasion, you should look at the Dreamsicles collection that we have on our ebay store. Just click the URL to take you directly to the store.

Deb Canham Artist Designs are Amazing

Deb 2 One of my personal favorite collections of miniature bears is from Deb Canham Artist Designs. I never get tired of seeing my collection and really appreciating the time and craftsmanship that Deb Canham puts into each piece. You can make out the minute details and above all the joints are movable so you can position the arm or leg the way you want to.

For Deb Canham Artist Design fans who did not know much about the brains behind these beautiful and adorable miniatures, I would like give some basic information. Deb Canham is a British bear artist who started her company in 1996, and now lives in the United States. In collectors' jargon, the company is fairly new but collectors like me are passionate about her creations. And, Deb Canham has not just stayed with miniature bears. For the whole range of Deb Canham Artist Designs, check out our ebay store at http://stores.ebay.com/bearwatch-aka-Just-Bears-and-Stuff

Deb1 Whether you are looking for Deb's Little Gems, Bears,  Mini Mice or Bunnies, Just Bears and Stuff has them. Each time I showcase Deb Canham's pieces on our ebay store, the response is amazing. Her new designs sell out faster than I can change my socks! This has prompted me to ensure that the store always has constant supply of Deb Canham Artist Designs for miniature collectors and lovers.
